Josh Leibowitz

Chief Strategy Officer & SVP Cunard North America , Carnival Corporation

Speaker Bio

Josh Leibowitz serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Carnival Corporation, a global cruise company and one of the largest vacation companies in the world; in addition Josh serves as Senior Vice President of Cunard NA, a global cruise brand with over 176 years of operating experience. Carnival Corporation’s portfolio includes leading cruise brands Princess Cruises, AIDA, Holland America, Carnival Cruise Lines, Seabourn, Costa Cruises, P&O Cruises and Cunard.
Prior to joining Carnival, Josh was a Partner at McKinsey & Company, where was a leader in the big data, e-commerce, and multichannel operations practice for North America. Before McKinsey, he held multiple operating roles. Josh was a Managing Director at idealab!, an innovation incubator that creates and operates pioneering technology companies, where he successfully led several e-commerce startups. Prior to that, he started and operated a wholesale and retail shoe business in Los Angeles.
Josh writes a blog focused on vacation / leisure time. The idea is too many people do not use up all of their vacation time. The quick rule of thumb is people should spend about 8% of their time and total salary a year on vacation. According to Josh, that doesn't seem like too much of an ask.
Josh received an A.B. in economics from the University of Chicago, Phi Beta Kappa and holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, with high distinction, Baker Scholar.
